Roses and Chocolate

This morning I stepped out from our kitchen onto the covered patio and was greeted by the wild scent of roses. Apparently the breeze was blowing exactly the right way and our bushes, heavy with just-opened buds, were showing us what they could do. As if that odor wasn’t heavenly enough, I walked back inside into the smell of hot-on-the-griddle cocoa pancakes and simmering chocolate sauce.
Some mornings should have an endless-repeat button.

What makes your home “home” to you?
